Cody Rhodes 2026: WWE Re-Sign, Retirement Plan, Net Worth, Wife, Age and Street Fighter Guile Role

Cody Rhodes has officially re-signed with WWE and says he intends to retire with the company, ending months of speculation about his future. The American Nightmare confirmed the new deal in 2026 while also promoting his live-action role as Guile in the Street Fighter movie, making him one of the busiest crossover stars in entertainment.

Did Cody Rhodes re-sign with WWE in 2026?

Yes. Cody Rhodes confirmed in 2026 that he signed a new WWE contract and plans to finish his in-ring career with the company. Fox News and Yahoo Sports both reported the announcement, with Rhodes framing the decision as a legacy move rather than a short-term payday.

The timing matters because WWE is deep into its Netflix era and its new broadcast cycle, and Rhodes is the reigning face of the men's division. According to WWE's 2026 live event data, Rhodes has headlined more premium live events than any other full-time superstar since 2024, which gives him unusual leverage in contract talks.

What did Cody Rhodes say about retiring in WWE?

Rhodes said he wants to retire as a WWE superstar and has no plans to wrestle elsewhere. In interviews covered by Sports Illustrated, he described the re-signing as a commitment to finish the story he started when he returned at WrestleMania 38.

"I re-signed with WWE and I plan to retire with WWE," Rhodes said in the 2026 announcement, per Fox News.

For fans tracking the business side, this removes the annual free-agency storyline that has followed Rhodes since 2022. It also locks him into WWE's creative plans through the current decade, including any future WrestleMania main events.
